I'm sorry I haven't blogged since last week... we had 3 deaths in the family from both sides this week and it's been a real juggling act. When visiting family members who have passed, there is a certain aura that comes over you. For the most part, memories of older family members seem like a lifetime away. You remember their humor, spunk, happiness, smiles, hugs, their kindess, hard work attitude, or how ornery they were. You remember certain family functions, or just a passing on the street. How times were back then, when families weren't as busy and you spent alot of time together. You actually knew who was who...not just seeing long lost cousins at funerals or weddings like now, wondering who they are or if they are related.

A while ago, I was starting to get "weird" about the whole "death" thing and I guess it's the "over 40" part of my life now. I think the biggest hangup I have is leaving everyone behind....will anyone miss me??? At one point, this REALLY bothered's becoming more bearable now though.

GOD's KNOCKING - DO YOU HEAR ME??? It was funny, at the time I was obsessing over this feeling, I was at a book store buying the new Harry Potter book for my eldest son for his birthday. They kept the book behind the counter, so I had to wait in the checkout line before I could get it. While standing in line, there was a display of a book... "90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & Life" by Don Piper. I picked up the book, perused the back cover and put it back. Although I am quite religious, I didn't think that I could actually gain anything by reading it. I went home and told my husband about it and he said I should have gotten it because he had heard it was a good book. So the next day, I went and picked it up. Let me tell you, after reading the first 3 chapters, this book really started to put to ease my feelings. I would recommend it to anyone at any time in their life.

THE MORAL OF THIS LONG BLOG....I am a believer that GOD sends subtle messages to all of us, but if we don't listen, they will fly right over our heads. When we listen, it is quite rewarding!
