SwapsNMore Tags

Ok,Ok, I know I've been only getting to post maybe once a week now - part laziness, part weather, part chaufeur, part everything it seems, and not to mention part not-my-fault!

So I joined this group, SwapsNMore and it's soo much fun! So what do we do?? Well, the hostesses select a paper line, then you sign up for a part of a scrapbook page - i.e. title, photo mat, tag, altered item, embelishment bag, etc. You sign up for what piece you want to do, then when everyone fills the slots, the details are emailed to us. We also do basic swaps - I'm also signed up for a "die cut" swap. We picked our favorite die cut and will make 4 for each person in that same line of dies (Cuttlebut; Sizzix, Quickutz, etc.) who signed up.

This is the swap I joined. It was Basic Grey's new lines - Archaic and Cupcake. I figured Archaic for the boys and Cupcake for someone's B-day. So I signed up to do tags - there were 7 slots and I had to do two different tags for everyone. I took the approach of a fancy tag and a plain one.

So here is the "fancy" Archaic tag: I call it my Dino Bag Tag. It's a tag that I made from a mini brown bag. I used the following:

Basic Grey Archaic "Dino" and "Ancient" patterned paper; I cut the dino which was a repeated pattern 2 1/8" x 2 1/8"; mini brown paper bag (2 5/8" x 3 7/8"); 7"twine; Bazzill cardstock Bottleglass; Pixie Press brad; Colorbox chalk ink dark brown.

And this is my "plain" Archaic tag:

This is what I used:

Cut repeated pattern of the palm tree from Basic Grey Archaic "Dino" 1 1/4" circle; May Arts 3/8" twill ivory 8" piece; Bazzill cardstock Bottleglass (green), Hazard (orange), and Windy Blue; We Are Memory Keepers eyelet; Colorbox Chalk ink dark brown; Quickutz nesting tags.

Now for the Cupcake tags - Here is the "fancy" Cupcake tag:

Here are the ingredients...

Basic Grey Cupcake "Cake and Ice Cream" patterned paper; Bazzill cardstock -Sunbeam(yellow) and Evening Surf (blue); American Crafts ribbon (cupcake #6); Provo Craft Bradletz Big Flowers; Stickles; Colorbox Chalk ink dark brown; We Are Memory Keepers eyelet;

I used a corner rounder for the patterned paper; Sizzix Super Scallop tag and Ellison Design Scallop tag.

And last, but not least, the "plain" Cupcake tag:

What I used:

Basic Grey Cupcake Cake and Ice Cream patterned paper - I cut the small blue cupcake that repeated; Bazzill cardstock Evening Surf (blue), Lava (red) and Sunbeam (yellow); Brass eyelet; Colorbox chalk ink dark brown; May Art Red 3/8" sheer polka dot ribbon.

I used my Cuttlebug long tag die that came in one of my alphabet sets. It's 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"

They are due to the hostess by June 1st so if you think I need to add a little extra something to those "plain" tags, please post a comment.

See, I've been busy - not too lazy, just too lazy to post!! LOL!!

Thanks for reading.....oh ya, your in for a treat - 2 posts today!!

Finally, some projects....

Well, today it's very quiet...no projects to get done ASAP...just time to catch up - on my posts that is! Boy have I been slacking!!! I need to post pics to my Picasa, and here....so here are some of the things I've been working on.

Here is a pick of the round tins I made for my "peeps" for St. Patrick's Day. I purchased the tins at Target on clearance (ya) $13 for 30!! They are like $25 regular. So I punched some shamrock shapes from green patterned paper, Bazzill paper, etc. using my new Quickutz die. I included a fancy clip, some brads, and a green felt flower. I tied ribbon around it. I stamped the top with a Studio G St. Patrick's Day stamp with Papertrey's Palette ink.

Next, here is one of the Make & Takes I prepared for the all day crop last weekend. It's a Pop-Up card. I used pink, white and black Bazzill cardstock. I punched two flowers of different colors for contrast and punched 2 "shadow" butterflies. The "Friends" is from Papertrey Ink Spiral Bouquet set. The sentiment inside is printed from the computer. I used MayArts black polkadot ribbon and a button.

The remaining card kits are for sale at YMP.

Next is a Pinwheel Card that was also a Make & Take. I used My Minds Eye Confetti Sunny Days paper for the pinwheel, a large brad, a 3 1/2" wooden craft stick, embroidery thread, a round chipboard piece covered with remaining paper, sanded and inked with chalk ink, and the sentiment was from Studio G and the "wind" was from my winter stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas Poochie Xmas.

I got the ideas for both the Make & Take cards from the Splitcoast Stampers web site and altered them.

I hope you liked my cards. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you all have a wonderfull Easter Day...Spring is just around the corner!

New idea..

During my blog hopping, I found this cool idea I CASE'd from Lauren Meader here. Her's were made using the 2-4-6-8 box idea using acetate or project projector sheets. I lifted a couple of transparency sheets to try it out. Mine were shiny on both sides, so I didn't have a side to stamp. I used the 2-5-7-10 box design, added a bow and tag. I filled mine with Mint 3 Musketeer bite size bars (10). Tell me what you think. I used :marvy scallop oval punch; creative memories circle shape; quickutz cookie cutter scalloped circle; creative memories circle punch; stickles; lizzie ann stamp;

Origami boxes

Hope all of you have had a wonderful ("full" being the ultimate word) Thanksgiving holiday. I hope all of you made it back from all the crowds during your Black Friday shopping and are recouping today!

Here are some different origami boxes I put together last night for the craft show. I filled them with individually wrapped mints - great for everyone! I used Reminisce paper from last year and various colored ribbons. For the tags, I used Quikutz cookie cutter die, Lizzie Anne Holiday Cheer stamp set, Cat's eye chalk ink and clear glitter Stickles.
I also made a box from Bazzil Elm card stock using my Marvy punch for the oval tag, Bazzill Dark Spruce and Canadian Maple Collection Stamp I picked up from Pat Catan's for $1.
Thanks for looking....more later!

Craft Show - Peek A Boo Box

Here is a sample of 3 QBee's Peek a Boo Boxes I made for the craft show last week. I CASE'd this from Charmaine at OodabugAlley. I used the Cuttlebug snowflake embossing sleeve, thin ribbon,
and the stamp is from Lizzy Ann Designs Holiday Cheer set. I also used my Quickutz Scaloped Nesting Circles and highlighted the embossing with white ink. I filled the box with (6) Hershey Kisses.
